Gearing Up for Another Season
While many people are beginning to hibernate with the onset of winter, the organizers at the Escarpment Project are starting to gear up for another season. Our annual clean up in 2016 was mammoth with over 800 volunteers taking part. We are already expecting another massive turnout of volunteers to support us with new escarpment locations to care for in 2017.
The Escarpment Project is looking for good team leaders who want to volunteer some of their time to help create the healthiest green space we can. A little help goes a long way and as a team leader you would attend 2 – 3 short meetings between now and April 30th 2017, and of course, show up on clean-up day (April 30th 2017) when you would help people sign in and hand out the necessary clean up supplies. Afterwards you could attend the Escarpment Project Volunteer Appreciation BBQ/Festival, have a BBQ lunch, mingle with other volunteers and enjoy some live music. Robin Benedict is one of the fantastic local artists who will be performing. Having a vehicle is important as you may be responsible for dropping off left over supplies.
If being a team leader isn’t your thing we also need volunteers for the BBQ/Festival to do all sort of things;
Show people where to enter & park, help replenish food & drink stocks, co-ordinate activities and more.
Students who volunteer will also receive community service hours.
